the skills to say it

This doesn’t mean kiddos shouldn’t train in ballet or young adults shouldn’t write because they haven’t yet “lived through anything.” In fact, it was the foundations of fine art in my life—particularly classical ballet and creative writing—that served as a necessary anchor for me to return to again and again anytime life hit the fan. But we all know that (unless it’s our adorable kid in the cat costume spinning out of control on stage) there is no match between the impact a mature dancer has on an audience versus a beginner.

As children or novices, we are still learning—forgetting and remembering—trying again. Inherently, there isn’t much room for the mastery of expression. Our heart is for everyone to be seen, feel safe, and have access to make. offered to our students and clients as the gift that it is. as a gift to We meet you, your story, your body, your room, your website, right where it’s at and offer you the tools, insight, and help to actually reach the next narrative step.

Learning and growth don’t happen in isolation. If all of those past years of dancing, writing, and mentoring were on my own, I’d have nothing to share with or show you now. But thank God that alongside the hardships I’ve faced, I’ve also been blessed with a abounding love, support, and wisdom from my communities. A core belief of eleVe is that the purpose of creating is to connection: to ourselves, yes, but more than that to lift our gaze outward and up to things higher still.
